The Conference for Arab Archaeologists

On November 9–10, 2024, the Conference for Arab Archaeologists took place in Cairo, bringing together researchers from across the Arab world to discuss and share advancements in the field of archaeology.

The SFDAS supported the participation of eight Sudanese archaeologists, enabling them to attend and contribute to the conference with their valuable research. Four of these researchers presented their work:

• Salma Khogali Ali Ahmed (Nilein University): The Impact of Armed Conflict on Antiques and Tourism: Case Study of Sudan
• Hadia Mohammed Shawgi Gamal (Bahri University): Grapes in the Kushite Kingdom
• Nahid Abdelatif Hassan Mohammed Gamal (Bahri and Khartoum Universities): Using Space Archaeology to Monitor and Preserve Archaeological Sites in Sudan in Light of Armed Conflict
• Howida Mohamed (Khartoum University): Using Systems and Strategies in the Study and Preservation of Heritage from Risks and Disasters: A Case Study of Sudan

The following participants attended the conference:

• Nossieba Mahjoug (NCAM)

Through this initiative, the SFDAS reinforced its dedication to supporting Sudanese archaeology and amplifying the voices of its researchers within the regional and international academic community.

Les 9 et 10 novembre 2024, la Conférence des Archéologues Arabes s’est tenue au Caire, réunissant des chercheurs de toute la région arabe pour échanger et partager leurs avancées dans le domaine de l’archéologie.

Le SFDAS a soutenu la participation de huit archéologues soudanais, leur permettant d’assister à la conférence et d’y contribuer avec leurs importantes recherches. Quatre de ces chercheurs ont présenté leurs travaux :

في 9-10 نوفمبر 2024، انعقد مؤتمر علماء الآثار العرب في القاهرة، حيث جمع باحثين من مختلف أنحاء العالم العربي لمناقشة وتبادل التطورات في مجال علم الآثار.
